Red Zone: Critical Cases in Emergency I

Emergency departments are one of the fast-paced and dynamic corners of the medical world. It is an arena where tens of patients and trauma cases are encountered every day, and where sometimes even seconds can be life-saving. In this challenging environment, emergency department staff strive to provide patients with the medical care they need while working meticulously for their health and safety.

This book is a guide to dealing with critical cases that are frequently encountered in emergency services. To be published by Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa as part of the "100 Books for the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" project, "Red Zone (Critical Cases in Emergency)" aims to be a resource for all health professionals working in emergency departments. This two-volume book offers a comprehensive overview of 39 critical issues frequently encountered in emergency departments to specialists and trainees in this field.

Each topic is examined in depth by experienced experts and solutions to problems encountered in clinical practice are presented. In addition, practical tips on priorities, and diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to be considered while examining each case are also presented.

The main aim of this book is to improve the practical knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals working in emergency departments and to help them intervene more effectively in critical cases. We hope that this resource will be a useful guide in their daily practice.

Finally, we would like to thank all the authors who contributed to the preparation of this book, the entire team working in the IÜC Book Publication Coordinators for printing and controls, and our Rector Prof. Nuri AYDIN, MD for providing us with this opportunity. This comprehensive source work has emerged thanks to their devoted work.
