Physiotherapy Rehabilitation in Cardiovascular Diseases
As the editors, we are happy to present you our book titled "Physiotherapy Rehabilitation in Cardiovascular Diseases". We are proud and honored that our book is one of the 100 books to be published within the scope of the "100 Books Project in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" under the leadership of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.
Cardiovascular diseases continue to be a significant global health problem, affecting millions of individuals and placing a burden on healthcare systems. Cardiovascular diseases generally cause patients to limit their physical activities and restrict their daily life activities. Management of these diseases requires multidisciplinary solutions, and physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches play an important role in improving patient outcomes and increasing quality of life.
While preparing our book, we not only wanted it to be a comprehensive and up-to-date resource about the role of physiotherapists in the evaluation and management of cardiovascular diseases, but also aimed to bring together the expertise and experience of physiotherapists and researchers, who are leading health professionals in the field. Another aim was to guide student and graduate physiotherapists, share current information and offer the most effective treatment approaches. In addition, it was to provide comprehensive information on how physiotherapy rehabilitation approaches should be planned and managed to improve the quality of life and optimize the functions of patients with cardiovascular problems. It was also among our goals to raise the awareness of cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons about the areas contributed by physiotherapists in the multidisciplinary team in patient treatment.
Our book contains basic information about the definition, history, basic principles, components and phases of physiotherapy rehabilitation in cardiovascular diseases, as well as the definition, classification, pathophysiology, epidemiology, causes, risk factors and symptoms of cardiovascular diseases. At the same time, the book covers a wide range of topics, including cardiovascular diseases, the effects of exercise and physical activity on cardiovascular health, comprehensive physiotherapy evaluations, and the application of various physiotherapy and rehabilitation techniques and approaches in the management of specific diseases and conditions. Each chapter of the book has been prepared with a holistic approach, using current research, evidence-based guidelines and clinical experiences of the authors.
