Anatomy of the Locomotor System

This book is a guide for human anatomy courses in the first year (1.1- Introduction to Medical Sciences) and second year (2.1- Locomotor System) course committees of Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine.

In our faculty, Human Anatomy courses start with the Locomotor System (Movement System). Therefore, students are introduced to extensive anatomy terminology in the first lessons. In this textbook, the basic topics and information that students need to know about the Locomotor System are discussed, adhering to what is taught in anatomy courses in line with the curriculum of our faculty.

Some muscles belonging to the "Muscles" section of the movement system (Perineal muscles, Muscles that move the eyeball and Muscles in the middle ear) are excluded from the scope because they are not included in the curriculum of these course committees and will be explained under their own subject headings in other books.

We would like to thank the Faculty Members and Experts in our Department who provided their scientific contributions in the preparation of this book, and all the employees who contributed to its publication.

We wish success to all our students at the beginning of their long-term careers.
