The Department of Otolaryngology at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine has a tradition of writing textbooks that are in line with innovations. The field of Otolaryngology has been rapidly changing and evolving in recent years. Parallel to the rapidly advancing developments in science in recent years, there has arisen a need to review and update the approach to Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Diseases.

As children of the Republic, we, with the responsibility inherited from our mentors in the 100-book project on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, have rewritten the ENT Diseases Textbook as volumes 1 and 2.

In preparing our books, we have endeavored to make the most of the archives of our department. Especially in the last 20 years, our department has recruited research assistants with very high scores. We have honored their achievements by including the research assistants from the period when the books were written in this project.

Parallel to the lecture topics, we believe that both of our books will be beneficial to our students and those interested in the field of Otolaryngology.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the colleagues who contributed to the writing of the books, and to all the staff of our department who played a role in the formation of our archive.

I thank our families and mentors who have brought us into existence in life.
