High Risk Lesions of the Breast
It is important to note that high-risk lesions of the breast are generally considered to be benign. However, due to their specific histopathological features, there is a possibility that they may potentially develop into more malignant forms of cancer. It is worth noting that breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, which further highlights the importance of high-risk lesions. It would seem that recent advances in medical technology have resulted in an increase in the incidence of these lesions, while also directing their treatment towards minimally invasive methods rather than surgical excision.
It is not uncommon for there to be challenges in the management of high-risk lesions. This is a topic that our physician colleagues who have completed their specialty training and work in different parts of our country often turn to for guidance. For this reason, we have endeavoured to prepare this book in collaboration with experts in the field, with the aim of providing a versatile reference source that incorporates current literature information and international guidelines.
I would like to express my gratitude for being included in this valuable 100-book project prepared for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. It is a great privilege to contribute our book on high-risk lesions of the breast, which plays an important role in the field of breast diseases. It is our sincere hope that our book will prove useful to all our colleagues.
I would like to express my gratitude to all my academic colleagues who contributed to the book and worked tirelessly, my esteemed Prof. Dr. Asiye Perek, who provided invaluable support throughout this process, my esteemed partner, who has been a constant source of encouragement, and especially my one and only daughter, who is facing academic challenges at this time, for her understanding and patience.
